Music Dan!
About the theme…
Music Dan loves music. He loves playing the guitar, drums and piano and he loves singing!
He plays at all sorts of occasions but, most of all, he loves playing music with his friends... But, he's been rather tired recently due to too many late nights watching music DVD's! So, his music manager, Mr Harpsichord has set him a series of musical and physical tasks for him and a group of kids to help him be more energetic again!

The idea with Music Dan is that he is a musician that plays in concerts, weddings, parties etc. but he's been so tired recently that he's been set an adventure by his boss- Mr Harpischord. The adventure is to find a group of kids who will follow the tasks set by him all to help Music Dan feel fit again! So, after the usual warm up games section that we offer at all our parties (star jumps, running on the spot, the name game, etc, etc.) the tasks are revealed as an 'instruction pack'. The first few tasks are all singing tasks and the kids sing along with Music Dan as he plays his guitar- the final song being the 'Music Dan' song whereby kids can dance/sing along during the chorus. Other tasks include: a movement game whereby they act out being different types of aeroplanes when the music is playing; A game of Islands (where they have to run to the bits of newspaper when the music stops and it gets more difficult each time as more bits of newspaper are taken away!); A singing relay race and Musical Action Statues (where they have to freeze with their hands on their heads, or like an elephant etc when the music stops!). This would then culminate in a mini 'treasure hunt' where they have to find the sweets that are their prize and then they get one each and it's tea time.
After tea (25-30 mins) it's games time: Music Dan's Coming (like Captain's Coming), Stuck In the Mud, etc. etc. ending in classic Musical Statues.
Just so you know, I purposefully don't use drums as it would be too much of a distraction and having 20 kids banging drums is anyone's idea of a nightmare don't you think!!
