Dance Party!
Does your child's foot tap uncontrollably when they listen to music? Do they love to show off their crazy moves? Then our Dance Party is the answer!
What happens in a Dance party?
Pick your child's favourite song in advance, then we'll create a dance routine especially for them and their friends to learn and perform at their party.
We'll kick off the party with some fun warm up games (with lots of dancing, of course) and then teach them the routine.
The birthday child will have lots to do (if they want to!). There is a break for food after one hour and then we'll put the finishing touches to the routine - ready to perform to the parents at the end of the party. Hurrah!
-
The first 5-10 minutes are spent with the dance leader (DL) meeting and greeting the kids, writing names on stickers etc. with some background pop music on. She then explains what they will be doing- working on a dance routine for the parents to see at the end! Then the DL runs some warm up exercises to get them ready: stretching, running on the spot, star jumps and touching your nose 10 times really quickly, for example!
Then the DL runs some fun games, for example- The Musical Blanket Game (they all dance to some music and then when the music stops, they lie on the floor. Someone gets covered with the blanket and they all have to guess who it is.) and Musical Action Statues (like musical statues but when the music stops the DL announces they have to become an animal and dance and make noises like it, and so on).
Then the DL shows them, with a song pre- chosen by the birthday child, the dance routine that they will be working on. She then starts to teach them it- giving the birthday child special focus- and then there is a break for food/birthday cake etc.
After the cake ceremony, the DL continues to teach the routine and then introduces it to the parents to show them at the end.
Then the DL announces sticker prizes for all if they line up and give her a high five and as they line up announces a gold medal/s for the birthday child/children. Music plays during the stickers being handed out.
End of party!
