Cowboy Dan!
About the theme…
Cowboy Dan is a little bit sore. He fell off his horse whilst practising what he loves doing more than anything - rodeo riding! But, in order for him to enter the next big competition in the mid-west of America, where he's from, he needs some young cowboys and cowgirls to help him get fit again!

Cowboy Dan meets and greets the kids for the first 5-10 mins, writing names on stickers etc. and then gathers them round to explain what they’ll be doing during the party: to help him get fit again for a rodeo riding competition back home in the mid-west of America. This is done as a mini storytelling style. Cowboy Dan also announces that the birthday boy will also hopefully be initiated in to being an ‘official young cowboy’ towards the end of the first part. They then do a series of warm up games (stretching, running on the spot, etc and some original games and singing) and a Cowboy character building exercise, followed by lots of Cowboy friendly games like: Cowboy, Indian; The Voice Disguise Game (they all have their eyes closed and have to guess who is speaking!) and more. Then the birthday boy gets his initiation and Cowboy Dan finds a note that says they must go on an imaginative adventure on their imaginary horses to find the ‘Cowboy Sweets’. They then find them and all get one each. This is all for the first hour. There is then a 25-30 minute tea break, followed by classic party games like: Cowboy Dan’s Coming (like Captain’s Coming), for example and always ending with musical statues with a couple of sweet prizes and a medal for the birthday boy!

Also works well for large groups of over 30 kids with two actors as The Cowboy Cousins!
