Fun ideas that cost very little for Christmas with all the family…

Christmas is coming! It is a time of joy, family, fun and relaxation.

But, it can also be a very expensive time of year: The big Christmas Day turkey, nights out, parties and of course, presents.

Not everyone is rolling in money, right? So, what can be done on the cheap that still creates some Christmas cheer?

Well help is at hand with our top 5 things to do on the cheap for Christmas…

1) Go holly picking. Why buy some when you can forage for it for free? Head to a wooded area or park in your area and chances are, there will be holly aplenty. Have some good, sturdy gloves at the ready (those holly leaves can hurt!) a pen knife (or garden scissors) and get plucking. Once you’re home, they make a lovely decoration, either slipped behind a mirror or picture frame or bunched together wrapped in some ribbon (red of course) with water in a vase for longevity.

2) Make your own Christmas crackers. Check out this brilliant link from English Heritage

3) Play some fun, family Classic Party Games! Sharades, hide and seek, wink murder and Musical Statues with some Christmas hits always goes down well

4) Print off some family pictures from Photobox, get them framed and give them to your loved ones for a heartfelt, unique and affordable Christmas present

5) Walk, take a bus or drive through Central London one evening and look at all the Christmas lights. If you go after 6pm by car, you won’t have to pay the congestion charge plus traffic will be a bit lighter. Although seeing them up close is more magical. Check out this link for a great route

We do hope you like these ideas and from all of us at Nutty’s Towers, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
